Hackathon Mentor
1st TechWeek: UTFPR / CESUL / TypeX / NUBETEC
Mentored student teams at the 1st TechWeek hackathon in Francisco Beltrão on city-government problem briefs: scope, user validation, MVP, and final pitch.
Represented DevParaná as a mentor, alongside Gabriel Prando, at the 1st TechWeek hackathon in Francisco Beltrão, organized by UTFPR, CESUL, CASIS, TypeX Sistemas and NUBETEC. Teams had one day to solve real problems in Health, Administration, and Environment proposed by the local city government.
Morning sessions focused on helping teams clarify their ideas and figure out who they’d actually be building for. In the afternoon I pushed teams to restate the problem in their own words before touching any code. A few had already drifted from the original scope. In the final hours we ran a pre-pitch round, where each team practiced their narrative and I helped them structure the story around a persona rather than a feature list.
Winning solutions: (1) Patient monitoring app for fibromyalgia, (2) Fleet management and sharing app, (3) Zoonosis center management app.
